If you go back to the very first episode, Season 1 Ep1, the turtle the girl grabs in the creek with her bare hand is 3 times smaller than the one they eat.
Ever notice how every episode they are starving on day 18 but miraculously find a fruit tree or kill an animal? Yay! Now we have the calories to make it to the extraction point.
Its all scripted bullcrap. If the producers didn't stage, script or edit stuff out of sequence we would be watching 2 people sit and shite in the dirt for 3 weeks.
