It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World.

Pretty much nothing else is even close.

When this was made, if you were a comic in Hollywood and you didn't have a part in this movie you needed to fire your agent immediately.

It had an enormous cast and almost everyone in the cast had won or been nominated for emmys or academy awards. Almost everyone in the movie had extensive work before this movie.

It would be impossible to make this movie today with that kind of star power. I'm not even sure there are enough comic actors today to fill all the roles.

It had great ones, but as far as the sheer number, its not even close. One that is higher (and may be the highest) was released this week.

As far as quality of the actors is concerned, then yeah its near the top, but not quantity.

Once Upon a Time in the West was pretty stacked as well.

John Wayne
James Stewart
Gregory Peck
Henry Fonda
Spencer Tracy
Debbie Reynolds
Karl Malden
Lee J. Cobb
Agnes Moorehead
Thelma Ritter
Richard Widmark
Carroll Baker
Carolyn Jones
Robert Preston
Eli Wallach
Walter Brennan
Raymond Massey
Russ Tamblyn

Glengarry Glenn Ross

Al Pacino
Jack Lemmon
Kevin Spacey
Alec Baldwin
Alan Arkin
Ed Harris
Jonathan Pryce
Bruce Altman
Jude Ciccolella

Jack Lemmon even said it was the best cast he's ever worked with and that's saying a lot considering the career he's had.

You consider Valentine's Day an all star cast? How many of those actors are worth a damn? Bates, Maclaine, Roberts, maybe Foxx and Hathaway. That's it. Most of them will be forgotten in 20 years.

I consider an "All Star Cast" A-B List celebrities, and yeah its got alot of them. You don't have to have actors of Robert De Niro's caliber to be considered an all star cast, just famous people. All Star Cast for me at least doesn't mean its filled with great actors, just well known ones and ones that increase ticket sales by attaching their name to a project.
