I watched this Rob Reiner / Stephen King movie the other night. shite, that was a very good and entertaining movie. it was a little slow in parts, but Kathy Bates' character was phenomenal.

For those who have seen it, what did you think?

Great movie. The new season of Castle Rock (which starts tomorrow, I think) is loosely based on this, I believe. Excited to watch it.

My wife can't stand reading/seeing torture scenes. When the Misery novel came out, she bought it and had me read the amputation/cauterization pages so that I could tell her how bad it was going to be.

She returned the book without reading it.

kathy bates was basically my childhood "freddy krueger". I would often wake up in the night and see her standing over my bed.

my dad tells me when this came out, he had just dislocated his ankle playing rec softball. he was in a cast from his foot to his waist. He was laid up in bed watching this and legit passed out when the ankle scene came on.

I had read the book before the movie and still thought the movie was brilliantly directed and acted.

Perfectly cast as well.

James Caan when his legs where being put up on the blocks .... made my nuts hurt even with empathy pain. You knew what was coming but you didn't want it to come. Everyone in the theater gasped in pain at the same time.

One of the best Stephen King movies.

It always amazes me we go from adaptations like this and Cujo and Carrie and Christine to Tommyknockers, Running Man, and Dreamcatcher.

Stephen King adaptations are truly a box of chocolates.

Despite my opinion of him as a human being, Meathead is an excellent filmmaker.

This was tame compared to the novel.
