Was thinking about the other thread about regular joe movies where the character worked hard and became exceptional at a sport. A great real life example would be Mike Piazza who went from a guy that was only drafted as a favor to his dad by Lasorda in the 62nd round to a hall of famer.

Seems like it would make a great feel-good sports movie.

Hopefully it starts with him taking cuts on the beach in uniform.

Maybe a decade ago.

Today young movie goers would not likely feel inspired by the story of a kid from a multi-millionaire father who made his fortune buying and selling used cars and real estate. It wouldn’t sit well that Piazza’s family’s wealth and connections provided him with private lessons from Ted Williams and the ability to influence a Tommy Lasorda led Dodgers organization to draft him as a favor to the family.

They would want to rename the movie “White Privelege” because even though they’re Italian, Italians have become “white adjacent.”

Any other ideas?

Not to mention his chemically induced home runs.

Yeah, we're never going to see any feel-good movies about 90's Andro era sluggers.

Will it also show his ghey life, or completely fabricate his story, and make him a puss hound?

I'd watch a 2-3 part docu- series on the 90s- 2002 Seattle Mariners. Loaded with Griffey, ARod, Randy Johnson, Edgar, but never made it to the series. Then traded or lost all but Edgar, signed Ichiro, set the wins record and again never made it to the WS. That 2001 team was fun to watch, but destined to 'Mariner' in the end.

he really was a flash in the pan even though he had a good career for baseball. but no one will get a fat catcher making it. sounds good but wont happen
