I started watching it. Slow start, got bored. I'll give it another shot later, but I don't think this one of his is my cup of tea. Loved Futurama, so I am hoping it reaches that level.

Now that you’ve watched it.
Do the bad reviews make any sense?
bottom line: he told SJWs to get fricked over apu and his new show isn’t woke.

Oh I see why for sure.

There weren't many things in your face as the "This isn't a gender thing" comment Bean makes to the gender neutral troupe. But there's definitely an underlying frick you to the SJW movement.

I have a question Fox. Groening says:

quote:

The nature of the history of fantasy ... is, it's always: Things are not what they seem to be," he says. And like a good magician, he ups the intrigue without giving too much away. "I issue this challenge to the viewers," Groening says. "The very first thing you see in animation on Disenchantment ... gives a big clue as to what the nature of this universe is ... there's lots of secret clues and puzzles and even treasures. No monetary value, but they're in there."

What is the very "first thing in animation" you see??

If you count the title screen (which is animated slightly) this is the exactly the first thing shown:

and then the first actual scene of the show is:

So both (if you count the title screen and the first scene of the show) are insinuating she is dreaming.

To me, this means this whole show is a dream, and if that's the case he's going to take it far, probably on the same vein as Adventure Time, by the end of it.

Is this good or bad? I haven't watched Adventure Time.

ETA - just finished. Good show. When does part 2 come out? Also watch the final scene after the credits in the last episode.

also, that's not bean in the bed. it's the guard she hog tied.

It's not her in the bed in the actual scene but it's her in the title card (which is animated)

i'm not so sure since fry, bender and the professor temporarily visit following the plot line of a futurama episode.

so are you insinuating that "the first thing in animation" is the futurama episode where they kept going in time? and not "the first thing in animation" of the actual show?

color me intrigued

I think a large reason the reviews are mediocre is that it isn't anywhere near as clever as Futurama. I also think it started off insanely slow (the first two episodes were probably my least favorite) and a lot of critics will base off of an extremely limited sample size.

What about the "Medieval Civilization" realm outside the applied cyrogenics lab Bender destroyed in Bender's Big Score?

How did I completely miss that Futurama reference. Is that real?

Also that episode of Futurama is awesome. The song that is played during their time travel montage is a must have on your mp3 player.

That happened to Bojack too. Reviewed off the first 6 episodes

Great point. Bojack begins with a fizzle, but always goes out with a bang. Each season has gotten better than the last. Speaking of that, when is Bojack season 5 coming out?

EDIT: September 16th apparently.

To be fair it can be either before or after Futurama's setting.
