ooh there could be a funny scene where he's helping a rebuild and one of the workers calls to him and points at a 'hardhats required' sign. Superman gives him like a sarcastic 'yeah, sure' look but then sure enough a steel beam falls and hits him right on the head.
Cue some cgi birds and stars floating around his head before he gives a look back to the now gathered workers, shrugs his shoulders and gives what will be his new trademark 'you sure told me' smirk.
The final shot can be a random worker throwing him a hard hat that when he puts it on we see they've had it labelled with his famous S logo. Now we know humanity has accepted him.

My thoughts on it:
I honestly wanted to give this film a chance. I thought this would be the film that actually gave Superman the film he deserved. Instead, Snyder gave us the antithesis of "Superman Returns", which is not a good thing.
Literally everything about Superman Returns, Snyder does the opposite. No Lex Luthor, no real heroics by Superman, and mass, mass deaths. It makes no sense why people wouldn't despise Superman since he's quite literally responsible for Zod being there. But somehow no one gives a shite at the end that millions are dead and laugh it off with a good friendly game of baseball. Ask Katrina victims if they were able to laugh off their woes with football.
Really, everything with this film was fricked. Henry Cavill and Michael Shannon were good, but everything else about this movie sucked. Lois Lane should have been a journalistic hardass, and Amy Adams is pretty close to the bottom when I think of hardasses. While I don't blame them for not casting her after the clusterfrick that was Kate Bosworth, Jennifer Lawrence was born to play Lois Lane and should have been cast as her. Lawrence Fishburne sucked as Perry White, and for some fricking reason they changed Jimmy Olson's sex.
But frick it, since Superman saved a family of four, after millions die because of him. Because hey, frick it! He saved 4 people out of the millions dead. That makes it ok for him to kill Zod because he saved four fricking people.
Seriously, how do you progress from here? Everyone should despise Superman. Granted they've given Luthor one hell of a motive to hate him, but this is all ridiculous if we're supposed to like him.
In short, this film shite the bed, I see no reason why we should like it, and it's just generally awful.

Me neither. I don't understand why its a problem that Metropolis was leveled. It was a battle between super powered aliens and something called world engine was involved. Of course its gonna be destructive. I'm not sure what the alternative was, but I'm glad we finally got a superman without campy unfunny Pryor or goofball Lex Luthor.
Let's think about this from a realistic level. If NYC was leveled, and it was because of the fact that the guy who "saved the city" signaled his race to come here, would Superman be hailed as a hero? No, he would be hailed as the single biggest travesty and menace in the history of Planet Earth, and we'd try to eradicate him in whatever means possible.

First... I didn't see millions die.
Second... It is FICTION. Did you want to see 2 hrs of mourning ? They had to end the movie on a good note. And did you really try to compare how people reacted in a MOVIE to Hurricane Katrina ?
Third... Maybe the people don't hate him because he just saved the entire human race from extinction.

Watched it for the first time, the story is lacking from the first one bbut the fight scenes are first rate. It's hard to compare movies his far apart.
