That was an absolutely unbelievable episode.
The fight was epic, and an immediate top 5 moment for the show.
The bit with the pro and "you're my king" had me rolling. It was so spot on with pete's character.
I thought the party was great. Don slipping back into suburban life and so quickly falling into place was really interesting.
Also, am I completely spacing or was that little piece of info about Peggy and Ken's "Pact" new information? Interesting to see that Peggy is seriously considering the idea that she's going to have to leave to advance.

Brilliant episode...finally Mad Men has arrived this season.
All my complaints - addressed.
More Pete and Roger being Roger. This is the episode I was waiting for.
It was great.
So Pete says at the end..."I have nothing to...of...(offer?)

There were quite a few metaphorical car wrecks in this episode. Most notably (and transparent) was the botching of the JagUar account.

The episode was showing how Pete feels weak despite his desperate attempts at power. If you notice when that teenage boy first appeared Pete stared at his biceps which demonstrated Pete's feeling of physical inferiority. Then with the prostitute his fantasy was a woman telling him he was King (power). He feels inferior to his much stronger wife, he loses a fight to an old man and he loses the teenage girl. The narration by Ken's book sums up perfectly how Pete feels at the end.

What was that narrative again?
And am I the only 1 who thinks Don has adapted well and is relatively happy? He hates the burbs, but lives in the city. Megan pushes him to do stuff, but not that hard.

I don't remember word for word, but it was essentially about being unhappy, trapped and powerless.

Meh, I think Don thinks he is happy. He may be happy like Roger was happy for the first few months after marrying his young bride. If you remember even Roger turned down strange right after he got married.
That said I don't foresee Don cheating in this season. I think Meagan is more likely to break his heart at some point rather than the other way around.

But like the car wrecks shown in the video, the carnage doesn't only affect the person whose fault it was. It destroys everyone involved.
It destroyed that guys marriage, Lane's friendship (however forced it may haver been), and the potential of a multi million dollar luxury car account for the firm.
Also, how about the HS stud getting a little stinkfinger during the movie? That chick ain't gonna make it to Ohio St, she'll be knocked up by the end of the summer.

Almost.
"He says I have nothing to"...and then the start of another word...it sounded like off---... to me.
He was going to confess something. Saying just, I have nothing isn't a confession and doesn't have much meaning.
Anyone else hear it differently?

My wife was pissed that I felt sorry for Pete. He's a grimy little pimp, but he's my grimy little pimp.
After being cock blocked by Joe College and upstaged by Super Plumber, I thought for sure Pete wouldn't be able to get it up for the 'ho.

The theme of the episode seemed to be similar to "Revolutionary Road" (DiCaprio/Winslet) with Pete suddenly going through the suburb/country woes while Don is now the content "old man."
Pete has never been faithful and it just might be he starts "becoming" Don and replacing him as the major focus. Young vs. Old; Don's story arc just seems near the end of the line...how much more recycled conflict can you give to Don?
Pete is that character who wanted to be Don but that era for "Dons" is fading.
