I have kinda assumed all the Losties were gonna get picked off until it was jack, kate, Sawyer, and (F)Locke at the end. Those have been the big 4 characters all along.
Miles and Claire are probably next, followed by Ben and Hurley.

He told him where Desmond was and said that Desmond was important because MIB wanted him dead.

so why doesnt anyone else have consciousness in both times?
Nobody else survived being jolted with electromagnetic rays.

does anyone else have a constant?
per lostpedia:
quote:
Daniel Faraday explains that when a consciousness travels back and forth through time, it needs a constant to latch on to. A constant is an object or person that exists in both periods of time, that the traveler deeply cares about and could recognize. If a constant is not found, the oscillations between different times will become more frequent and chaotic until the individual dies from what appears to be a severe brain aneurysm. Faraday's lab rat, Eloise, experienced this fate when it was unable to recognize the difference between the present and the future. Minkowski seems to have experienced the same fate and appears to have died aboard the freighter, and it is implied that the same thing happened to Brandon.

Next week should be interesting. I wonder if it will be 99% flashback like Richard's episode. I'm looking forward to seeing what the losties do now that they know the MIB is trying to get them killed.

I took that as something completely separate. Jack is the Candidate that will replace Jacob.

Jack has to become the new protector of the Island I guess. Don't know exactly how he becomes it though.

does MIB even necessarily get replaced at this point?

How did MIB know that Sawyer and co had been captured on the Hyrda?

Maybe he did some recon?
At the beginning of the episode, when Jack woke up, he wasn't there.

Jack figured out that MIB can't kill them directly. He just needs to convince the others. Of course, this doesn't apply to Kate. The writers seem to be setting up a scenerio where Jack will have to decide between saving Kate and saving the island.

Maybe Kate will be a sacrifice that the Island demands?

I would no. But what about claire? She has been mostly loyal to MIB and the Losties left her out to dry. Also, we have speculated Jacob/MIB were brothers...as are Jack and Claire.

Anybody got theories on the significance of the music box?

Haven't even thought about that yet. I'm surprised I didn't see that it was significant.

Didn't Sun or Hurley give the music box to Claire a few seasons back to calm the baby?

has there been any hint that MIB can be killed? w/ as much as he's worried ab getting off the island, I'm thinking he just continues to be trapped while Jack takes over Jacob's role. Next week will explain a lot ab this
