You're going to keep starting these threads until we all hate Hell or High Water, aren't you...

No way.

But it did feel like some smaller studio said..."Lets make a film like No Country but on a smaller scale with our smaller budget."

LOL...what?!!!

You're crazy, baw.

It actually felt like a perfect film not tainted by the pretension of the Coen Brothers.

Don't get me wrong: NCFOM is an excellent story and movie.

But Hell or High Water just has a special something that, in my opinion, is more favorable when compared to NCFOM.

I agree. Loved both, but hell or high water was just better for me.

Haven't seen it and I know that Josh Brolin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Chris Pine.

So, there's that.

Now, Tommy Lee Jones and the dude may be a push.

There can't be anything like Bardem in HoHW.

And, finally, if David Mackenzie woke up with 1/16th the talent of the Coens, he would die of shock.

(This is all just really another avenue for me to hate on Chris Pine - the trailers make it clear this is right in my wheelhouse - then I recognized the punk. )

Maybe if you compared their current body of work.

But, Brolin's performance in NCFOM is not better than Chris Pine's HOHW performance. If anything I'd say their performances are equal. In fact, I honestly think Pine's performance was a little better.

No joke.

Why does one have to be better than the other?

They were both fantastic movies.

Why can't we just leave it at that?

It's not. HOHW is the best movie I've seen this year and when I recommend it I even mention NCFOM but No Country is better IMO.

I have no idea where to begin with it, so I'll just say: the word is spelled "pretension" baw.

Well of course you don't because you've never seen HOHW which means you cannot have an informed opinion without coming off like a fool.

I think I was very clear that my agenda is to attack Chris Pine. However, I couldn't let your attack on the Coens go unanswered.

Hell or High Water is the by far the best movie released this year IMO. However, it's not as brilliant as No Country for Old Men. There's a reason that movie is so polarizing. I do think HoHW will develop a strong cult following.

Well, that may be so, but you're wrong to attack Chris Pine's performance in HOHW.

WRONG!
