Just now getting around to watch this episode, I agree that this season finale was a let down from the first two but it gave us some great one liners.

Likewise. What would have made it better for me is Raylan spinning Quarles detached arm around, pulling Quarles own trigger finger shooting Quarles between the eyes with his own 32 caliber.

So what do we want for Season 4? There has never been mention of any Raylan's brothers and/or sisters, if he has them.

Limehouse is still around, and Boyd hasn't exactly been cleaning up as a gangster. There's a sheriff's election coming up and Wynn Duffy may/may not be in good with the Detroit mafia. Here's my outline for Season 4:

All of Harlan county's power players want their puppet as sheriff. Realizing his first choice is a flake, Boyd brings in Raylan's older brother, (Michael Chiklis). Tommy Ray Givins is a former Green Beret turned mercenary, recently fired for torturing Afgans. He's pissed at Raylan for trading choosing law and order over kin.

In absence of a functional sheriff, Wynn Duffy and the Detroit mafia have been cleaning up. Oxy clinics and now meth producing with impunity.

Finally there's Limehouse. Realizing his best play is to work in the shadows rather than playing so bold and obvious like the other 2, he's in with Harlan's deposed sheriff.

That's what I got. Do me better.

As you aptly pointed out, there's a lot left hanging leading into season 4. The whole thing with Arlo taking the blame for Boyd was a big shaky but plausible since Arlo is crazy as a Mad Hatter without his meds. I really like Boyd as a character and Ava is smokin' hot. Really enjoyed the development of Boyd and Ava as a couple/team.

I am wondering how long Johnny is going to be able to keep up the ruse related to his betrayal of Boyd. Ava already knows that her whores didn't say anything and crazy Arlo was only talking to Helen. Limehouse might spill the beans just to end the bad blood with Boyd.

I like the arc you propose with Raylan's brother. Looks like plenty of makings for another good season.

I just learned this series is based on 2 books and a couple of short stories. How close do they track together?
