Like a sleep-aid...hypnosis...something weird happens watching Deer Hunter...your eyes get real heavy.
And then it was like that scene in Breakfast Club where Dick tells everyone to wake-up - the bartenders had to wake people up - pub is closing.
They turned the movie off and it wasn't close to finished and nobody seemed to care.

first time i watched this movie was in college and my roommate (a big deer hunter) sat down to watch it with me. I remember him laughing about the special effects of the scene where they actually shoot a deer and then walking out of the room sometime before they go off to war.
he comes back in about an hour and a half later and says, " this movie is still on?" facking guy really thought the movie was about deer hunting and i shed a tear when chris walken died a few moments later.

They should have played the version of Deer Hunter that was in the movie Jarhead.
