I remember being pissed about the ending, but not for the same reasons most everyone else was. I was pissed because I thought I actually lost DirecTV signal right in the final moments of the show. I didn't realize until later it was the whole ambiguous ending deal.

you can't argue with the explanation...the bell, point of view, etc.
...a lot of thought and direction goes into these scenes that isn't always so obvious to the casual viewer.

Now that Gandoflini is dead, and there is zero chance of any movie, we might as well just accept that Tony was killed.
