I remember being pissed about the ending, but not for the same reasons most everyone else was. I was pissed because I thought I actually lost DirecTV signal right in the final moments of the show. I didn't realize until later it was the whole ambiguous ending deal.

If you pay careful attention to the music/narrative in the first five minutes of the first episode of the last season you'll have your answer RE: the last episode of the series.

you can't argue with the explanation...the bell, point of view, etc.

...a lot of thought and direction goes into these scenes that isn't always so obvious to the casual viewer.


fantastic ending, and the greatest series of all time in my humble opinion
