I've only seen the show once. And it was sort of a binge. I was never sold it in being top 5 show of all time so maybe that's why I don't remember Season 8 being so terrible. I'll admit that Bran taking over was terrible, but other than that, what else made it so bad?

Rushed character development, abandoned character development, she “forgot”, super dark episode at castle back where you couldn’t see the action, crappy wooden dialogue (like star wars prequel level bad in a series that was once the gold standard for dialogue), dany roasts kings landing for literally no reason, etc

A lot of the outcomes of the ending could have worked, but the series was overly consolidated to the point that the plot felt rushed and character development went out the window. It was almost like they knew the beginning, most of the middle, and the ending, but had to write how to get there, and do so in a hurry, and just couldn’t stick the landing.
