Michelle Ryan

Instant rapport with the show and looked like she 'got it'. She was a natural, where as Jodie is forced and bland.

I actually saw a Twitter thread in the last week or so from a TV critic, Alan Sepinwall maybe, that said that Whittaker was fine but the new show runners gave her nothing to work with. I've never watched Dr. Who, I tried a few years ago and only made it 2 eps before I decided it wasn't my thing.

Apparently Michaela Cole is the betting odds favorite to take over. I hear that I May Destroy You is great but haven't watched it yet but she's black and a woman so that should be fun for some of you.

I have been a fan for about 15 years now (fairly short in the scheme of things), but I've seen every episode including classics.

The problem was never Jodie. She was a fantastic Doctor.

Chibnall is 100% the problem. The whole tone of the show is terrible and not Who-ish at all. I hate it.

Although that's not so much Whittaker's fault as it is Chibnall's.

I've only watched a little bit of her as the Doctor, but she's fantastic actress otherwise. I feel like if blame is being placed on her acting, it's likely from someone who didn't see her act in Broadchurch.

I don't know who that is, but most fans including me thought Michelle Ryan would be the best split tail candidate.

She's got a 3 or 4 part audio series ... The Adventures of Lady Christine De Souza...

with more to come in 2021.

Does it bug anyone else that they (Brits) call seasons of a show "series"?

The totality of a television program is the series.

Each compartmentalized run is a season.

Damn, y'all.

Also... their seasons are what... 10 or so episodes long? Unless it's Sherlock, and then they are 4. Of course 4 awesome episodes are far better than 4 decent ones and 20 bad ones...

With less episodes, the quality is generally much better... the recent seasons of Doctor Who notwithstanding.
