First one I liked for the most part. The second was ridiculous and I sometimes watch for the entertainment but otherwise it was kind of stupid.

Friend convinced us that JP1 was a great horror movie.

The horror was in how bad it was.

I feel like this series had alot of potential that it never tapped into. I agree that the second film is pretty ridiculous. But, the first film was a decent horror movie imo.

The first half of the first movie was pretty good. That's it.

Monster looked great and the premise was there. But halfway through the first, it took a bad turn and never looked back.

The first half or 2/3 of the first movie is GREAT horror, and then it falls into the laughably ridiculous. Second one is campy and stupid, but fans of the first would like it I guess. I started a thread a while back about movies that start off awesome and then kinda fall off, and JC was one of my examples (along with things like Sunshine).

The ending of JC1 is beyond retard imo. It just didn't fit with the rest of the film

If the series ever came back... I'd like to see a group of good writers come together and do a prequel where we discover the origins of the flying demon. Something set in the the 17th century or something.

Completely agree. A bunch of friends and I watched it for the first time out at a remote camp on a lake. First half we were all enthralled and freaked out. But then it fell apart and by the end everyone was back to playing cards and not paying attention.

I'll go so far as to say that the first 30-45 minutes of Jeepers Creepers 1 is the scariest film I've seen. The mood and general creepiness of it were just amazing. Then they reach the town and it all goes stupid.

Didn't he regenerate based on people he captured/ate? Maybe he didn't have his wings yet.

Two awesome movies! The first one is better than the second but the second is a lot of fun. I like the first one more because of the great Justin Long

I found this on wiki

quote:

In March 2006, Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral was announced. Cathedral is set 23 years after the events in the first film. Trish Jenner is the mother of a teenage son, Darry, named after the brother she lost 23 years ago. Trish has a recurring nightmare where her son suffers the same fate as her brother did, killed by the Creeper. Determined to prevent this from happening, Trish, who is now a rich and powerful woman, sets out on a final quest with Jack Taggart Sr. and Jr. to end the Creeper's reign of terror once and for all.

quote:

On February 9, 2011, Salva spoke to Fangoria about the film. Salva hinted that the script may lead into a television series instead of a third film as originally planned. When Fangoria asked, "With MGM out of bankruptcy, do you see Jeepers Creepers 3 on the horizon?" Salva replied, "Though I have been beating this drum for so long that people have started not to believe me, I am told they are very close to closing a financing deal for the third film in the trilogy. So I want to say yes, but let’s not jinx it by saying any more. My script for the film, which was written some time ago, sets up a TV series that features Poho County and The Creeper. The script has been ready to shoot for a while now."[3]
