To do a Christmas episode with a serial killer dressed as Santa, and all these references to rape -- too much, too much.

See, I think having a murderous Santa Claus played with malevolent glee by Ian MacShane is one of the greatest things to ever happen to television. I enjoyed the living hell out of that episode.

And honestly found it funny. I'm going to hell.

Agree with you on that. Lily Rabe, Jessica Lange, James Cromwell, Zachary Quinto have been great as main characters. I also enjoyed Franka Potente and Ian McShane.

Sadly, I think Evan Peters is a lot more boring this season. Tate was way more interesting and fun to watch than Kit has ever been. And Sarah Paulson is just okay. Sure, it's sad that Lana is locked up but IMO I really don't feel connected towards any of the characters this season. I just kind of feel like I'm viewing the show, don't really "care/feel concerned" per say for any of the characters, whereas last season I felt like I knew the characters from better/felt more 'connected' to them. Plus the storylines weren't all the over the place and the show was more spooky scary whereas this season is more shock value/disturbing. I think they really need to bring back Taissa Farmiga (the girl who played Violet) for Season 3.

This season is the first season I've watched and I love it. I watched the first episode of the first season on Amazon and from one episode, I preferred the second season, but I'm still going to watch the rest.

Parts of it are great, and parts are terrible, but it's worth watching. What disappoints me the most is the amount of sexual content that is thrown in purely for shock value, and there is plenty of it. The writers are better than having to stoop to that.

this season has been a lot more predictable IMO...hell a few people in the episode threads called Mcdermott being bloody face's son before he even made it on screen. also, i keep waiting for some big twist and im starting to think it may not happen. all in all it hasn't been as good as season one but i've still enjoyed it

and i totally agree that the Tate actor has a far more boring character this season. i really couldn't give a shite about Kit

I saw this post on the IMDb message boards written by an AHS fan and figure I'd link it here. Basically sums up my thoughts on Season 1 vs. Season 2:

quote:

Season 2 doesn't touch the superb character development in Season 1. Acting in season 1 is generally better. I find season 2 to have far better writing, much more suspenseful, but as the result of a busy plot, the character development is a bit lackluster. People say Season 2 is scarier, but I find Season 1 a lot more frightening. Both are almost two different and very enjoyable shows in their own ways. I enjoy them equally.

I started with season 2 then blew threw season 1 on Netflix a few weeks ago. I like both a lot, so it's hard for me to say which is better.
