Copalla straight up ripped it off for Apocalypse Now. Seven Samurai coming a close second and Lucas admits to ripping off Kurosawa films when making the initial Star Wars trilogy.

So is this supposed to be about the greatest foreign film or about directors ripping off other older movies?

I'll throw you a bone:

the opening sequence is one of the most captivating...

Because it sucks you in to wondering what is this about?

And it answers the question in 1 minute.

Is really good.

And DH nudes it up.

Don't let that deter you. It's not Fern Gully. It's Apocalypto with Missionaries.

I slightly prefer Fitzcarraldo, but Aguirre is super great. Top 10 for me for sure in Foreign films.

Others in the Top 10:
Seven Samurai
Throne of Blood
Sunrise
Stalker
Ikiru
