Great movie. One of the first DVDs we ever had. I was a kid when this came out and liked it back then.
Then we learned about the Cantebury Tales in high school which the movie is based on. Also, the heralder is Chaucer. We watched the movie in class, and you could tell everyone was into it.
Now as an adult, I appreciate it even more.

She is a terrible actress and she made her character so unlikeable I wanted to jab William Thatcher with a lance myself for licking her boots. Otherwise a very enjoyable film.

Got strong vibes of this movie from the first episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Trudging. You know... trudging?
To trudge: the slow, weary, depressing yet determined walk of a man who has nothing left in life except the impulse to simply soldier on.

It's great but greatest? IMO no but I have a tendency to have my "greatest" and "best" list get split into genres. Just my ocd. Wish they'd make movies like Knights Tale and frickin Eurotrip again but I think those days are over until they start recycling them poorly.

This movie will always hold a special place in my heart. The first time I saw it was on one of the premium cable channels. It was the night we brought my daughter home from the hospital and my wife was laid up because she had a C section. My daughter was in a bassinet in the living room with me. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
