Well the netflix came in and I saw this weekend. Excellent movie and I'd agree with it being the best movie from 08' and one of the best dark comedies of this decade. They really showed a good bit of the city, very crisp cinematography. I thought Colin Farrell was perfect for this role, his best work for sure.

I think this film did not get widespread box office success from maybe not enough publicity or money backing for distribution push. Every once in a while you come across a DVD and say "How did I not even know about this movie?" In Bruges was like that for me. Another recent release that went straight to video only because the production company folded was 'Nothing But The Truth'. Another one that can surprise you in how good it is.

Very entertaining movie. Ferrel, Gleeson and Fiennes gave great performances.

Oh and I liked how Ken was watching Touch of Evil in the hotel room.

I thought this could have been a lot better. Was expecting more.
Best dark comedy in recent years is THANK YOU FOR SMOKING.

I just rented it, and was quite disappointed, as the finale didn't really make any sense, and was quite predictable from the start to end.
I'm a huge fan of gangster, mob, hitman, wiseguy flicks, but this disappointed after all the hype. It had potential but was far too obvious.
For straight-to-release/non-mainstream type mobsy flicks in recent years, I prefer Dinner Rush, Lucky Number Slevin, Layer Cake,etc..

It is also cool that I have been to Bruges, Belgium and have seen the place where it was filmed.
