Computers are still going to get smarter and eventually take over. Destroying the terminators didn't change that.

It was all part of Skynet plan, he let John thought he'd win but there was a meta battle going on already. As much as you guys disliked it, Gensys showed the end of the actual war and how it's really did not mean anything.

Didn't the original terminators arm (the one he lost during the last battle) get found and used to reverse engineer and create everything about sky net in T2.

Nope all part of Skynet plan. John Conner was not the destine one, someone else is.

If that's true, after the 101 was destroyed, the future was set, Skynet was destroyed. How do they send a more advanced Terminator back to kill John Conner 11 years later?
They had a time machine - they sent 2 robots back to 2 different times. They sent the tried and true, reliable 101 model to the sure thing and the experimental prototype as a backup plan. Old John got control of the time machine and sent a reprogrammed 101 back to fight the prototype because that's all he had (and how he remembered it).

I'm not gonna even get into the absurdity of the T-X.
Made zero sense to me - the movie was nonsense, too. But, the first 2 work as a cohesive story. I've always preferred the first film, but the second is a lot of fun. Like I have to do with a lot of things, I just pretend that everything after the second movie didn't happen or was fan fiction.

There are far larger plot holes in Terminator (i.e. how John wouldn't exist if he didn't send Reese back in time). Just chalk it up to time travel. I wouldn't think too much about it.
