Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers
He dreamed it all. Fantasized it all in his head. He thought he quit Vicodin and screwed Cuddy.
In actuality, he never told her he was seeing things. Remember he insulted her really badly, then he told her he was in trouble and needed to stop Vicodin. In reality, he said some nasty things to her and she left her office. He never told her about the hallucinations.
He hallucinated everything from that point. No Detox. No sex with cuddy. The lipstick was actually the vicodin bottle.
Oh and now he is seeing Amber and Kutner.
On a positive note, this means Vicodin is still a possibility for the hallucinations since he never gave it up.

They will run the House is loony angle into the ground for the first half of the season, I could see House giving up his practice and Cuddy/Wilson spending half the season convincing him to come back

Well, he mentioned something in an earlier episode to Wilson that if he was committed he would lose his license. Not sure if that really would happen but he did say that to Wilson.
I agree it will probably not be a quick one episode and back fix. Might be good to mix things up with the crew. Will foreman be in charge or will we get some very special episodes with some very special super guest stars?

I enjoyed the 5 minutes of no dialogue, very dreamy and intense at the same time. My fav series of all time, and I liked this finale better than I've like alot others. I like getting into House's head.

I loved it although I admit the first 40 minutes were plain jane.
You could see defeat in Hugh Laurie's eyes when he entered Wilson's office. Wilson could see it and he jumped up immediately. Very well acted scene in my opinion.

I took it that he was no longer on vicodin, but still taking the Oxycodone that he was supposed to have given up 4 or 5 episodes back.

Na he never gave em up. They juxtaposed the scenes from last week with what really happened. It looks like he tried to give it up, but the scene in the bathroom he was alone and he took the pills.
He never stopped. The lipstick was the pill bottle and he was taking the pills without even realizing he was doing it which is why he finally realized he needed to be committed. He was no longer seeing reality.

Ha that scene is even more messed up in hindsight. He was hallucinating that he was with Cuddy and in withdrawal and he spotted the lone pill on the ground. He then had his subconscious mocking him about the pill.
IN reality, he was sitting next to the toilet popping the pills.
Wonder if this means Kutner is back until House is cured?

Well, House is now seeing him too, so He will at least need to be in some episodes until house is cured.

I was thinking that it was more of a one last parting shot, but you never know. I'd like to see more craziness in House's head.

It wasn't a memorable finale and I'm sure views will have a hard time remembering exactly how this season left off

I say BS. Those last 5-10 mins were pretty damn memorable.

I wont have a hard time remembering. I thought it was great

Wow, so unless House is shot or dying you feel people can't remember a small thing (sarcasm) like checking into a mental facility and potentially ending his medical career?
I liked the ending. The first 40 minutes were a head fake to make us think things were rosy, then it all came a tumbling down.

He also screwed up the two cases. Carl Reiner had the cancer, not the left hand guy. The first clue that nothing had changed.

I thought I was watching Lost for a second there.

Yeah I felt sorry for Carl. His diagnosis switched in 30 seconds from simple acid reflux to you are dead with pancreatic cancer.

Vicodin is oxycodone, just a name brand.

Really liked the finale. I was not expecting the ending. Cameron has been acting weird lately I miss the old cameron.
