They've taken agency away from a lot of characaters.
I kinda sorta maybe like the Aemond change though. He's not just a psychopathic idiot. He's clearly a smart person. He knows what this means.

I will agree there. I just don’t agree with the making him more sympathetic. He’s a psychopath, a more unhinged daemon while still being cunning and smart

I was expecting more as well but I think this was the perfect finale to win back the GOT folks who were on the fence. This season set the tone for whats to come. Really excites for S2.

Would be nice if they made some mention of needing to be worthy or needing to have garnered the respect of whatever with the dragon. Everything we’ve seen so far is you claim a dragon or you bond with it or whatever, and it does what you tell it to do
It’s obviously super believable that a dragon might now listen to some punk kid it’s only just met, but it sorta seems like they needed to lay some groundwork or breadcrumbs as that’s the biggest moment of the season that starts the whole damn war

Imo should’ve condensed the 10 into 5 episodes and called it HOTD: Prologue . I enjoyed episodes 1-9 think 10 sucked hard

She explained pretty well I thought that her allegiance wasn’t her call. That it was her husband’s.

Pacing was atrocious. The first 20 min could’ve been done in 3-5. The got old fashion stand around table and talk scenes were the worst of any they’ve ever had. Change to aemon was dumb. All in all should’ve condensed to 5 episodes and filmed the real start of the story concurrent and ran it as a 10 ep run in 6 months

bullshite. The guy has for ages said Raynera was the heir. A couple hours earlier he’d mustered every ounce of strength he had, to the point where it probably killed him, to walk to the chamber and reaffirm it. That night at dinner they all toast to it, and then she takes milk of the poppy mumblings to mean he decided to change all of that?
It’s so idiotic. I get there thing in this show is that every character is flawed and there’s no clear hero’s to root for or whatever Martin said, but they should’ve just made Alycent a villain. It’s much more believable than her believing her husband changed his mind.
Her son said it best when he said the king never cared for him ever and had years to name him his successor. It’s idiot
