Movie on Netflix I think...had so much potential but did get at some.of the mental conflict. The choice of president was bad...he couldn't pull off in a believable way the mental anguish of the scenario.

Spoiler alert

Wish the decision would have been revealed

It was ok. I had just read Annie Jacobsen's "Nuclear War" right before it came out, so it was entertaining enough but fell a little flat compared to the detail of that book.

Jacobsen's book is a little questionable (in terms of added drama to a scenario that doesn't need it), but it's much more "complete" and doesn't feel as parsed. It's being made into a movie directed by Dennis Villeneuve. It almost felt like House of Dynamite was rushed to release as to get separation from that bigger production looming. Probably not the case, but that's sort of what it felt like.

It was pretty disappointing. Especially after seeing the CBS Sunday Morning bit that sung its praises. The first act was the best. Once I realized what was going to happen, i was pissed the entire third act.

Frick that movie.
