If you're a "film nerd" watch the frick out of this piece of art. It's on Netflix Instant. It's weird as hell but it left an indelible impression on me like no movie has done since ... I don't even know.

If you don't like "pretentious European art house" then fall back on Koyaanisqatsi (Vince Vaughn, Kate Upton)

I saw it in theaters. The movie was fricking nuts and demands a rewatch. Don't worry though, no one else here will watch it, most likely. I've given up hope for movie talk on here

On my queue, I'm watching it soon.

Surprised you haven't watched Upstream Color yet.

Yeah I really enjoyed that movie, it was unpredictable and had a lot of energy. Only watched it once, I should probably watch it again since I'm still not too sure what it all meant.

The netflix reviews for this movie are hilarious. It's either 4-5 star or 1 star. The negative reviews are worth a read:

quote:

Fakes like Carax throw up their pseudo-artistic crap on the screen, knowing full well there are loads of pretentious fops out there who will take it upon themselves to supply the meaning and coherence that Carax himself is incapable of giving his work. Performance for the sake of performance doesn't cut it.

quote:

Do not give any credence to pretentious critics raving about this "bizarre yet brilliant masterpiece". It is a long, wet fart trying to be an art film.

The whole limo riding scene towards the end when he says something along the lines of "we must laugh before midnight because we might not live till tomorrow" was brilliant.

I like that he brought back his troll role from "Tokyo!"

They were playing this at a bar in Portland that loves to play strange European art house flicks when I was there a few months ago, and they did not have the subtitles on so obviously I had no fricking clue what was going on. I ended up really caught up in it and started google searching to figure out what it was. Added it to my Netflix queue but haven't had a chance to re-watch it yet
