A guy stole TC's helicopter and as he was hovering about 3 feet over the landing pad he dipped it to one side and knocked 3 guys down with the lending gear.

I can't believe they shot that scene. The rotors could have easily taken those 3 guys out when he was swinging the helicopter around.

There is a guy named Fred North that we use for helicopter shots in pretty much every big film, and I’ve seen that dude do some amazing stuff with a helicopter. So I bet whatever the shot was, the pilot was completely in control. And stunt guys love that shite too. The more dangerous a shot is, the more excited a lot of them get.

I'd be willing to bet that the pilot on the Twilight Zone set disagrees. Landis directed him straight to his death.

In 1980, cameraman Robert Van Der Kar was killed while filming an episode of Magnum P.I. when the low-flying helicopter he was riding in crashed into the Pacific Ocean off of Hawaii. The pilot, Robert Sanders, was injured and his license was suspended for 90 days by the National Transportation Safety Board.

I'm pretty sure all of the people in the helicopter survived. Some injuries and then of course Landis blaming everyone else in court.
