I think everything about this movie was great.

1.) A24 is one of the most cleaver studios today. I haven’t seen many A24 movies, but they know how to cut a trailer for their movie to get the view curious. No matter if the movie is great or dog poo, the trailer is probably pretty good.

2.) perfect budget for this movie. Wiki has it listed at 10 mil with box office of +55 mill. Not ever movie needs to have/should have a huge budget

3.) even with the drop off in the 3rd act the story was pretty good. One of the movies that makes you sit there and think what I just watched. Still processing it.

4.) acting all the way around was great! Another interesting thing is the two females leads were both raised Mormons.

Is this movie perfect? No but it was a great movie to watch today with the bad weather outside. Would recommend if you like movies that leave you having more questions that makes you think.

I enjoyed it, and I'm a vocal critic of A24 as a whole.

I don't care about the third act in horror movies very much (and I've been watching horror for 30 years. It's probably my favorite genre). Third acts are the toughest part to pull off, because by then the monster has been shown. If the first two acts are good, I'm largely satisfied.

I thought this movie was welllll above average for a horror movie. Hugh Grant had me entertained the whole time. I thought they did a great job creating tension even though we all knew Hugh was the bad guy before it even started.

Then you must LOVE modern horror
