Thor: Ragnarok is pretty damn perfect.
The adventure movies of the 90’s and early 2000’s are similar:
Jurassic Park
Pirates of the Caribbean
Men in Black
Independence Day
National Treasure

I mixed things up the other day and put my Godfather box set next to my Raiders box set on my shelf. Is that what you meant?

I was similarly blown away by The Matrix when it came out. Had never seen action like that.

There have been some great candidates mentioned already. I’d second The Mummy and the first Pirates as well. The first National Treasure was solid and the LotR also fits the bill.
Other movies had nice adventure undercurrents but it wasn’t the centerpiece, such as the new Jumanji (it’s a Breakfast Club self-discovery journey set in the jungle).
A couple that come to mind for me that haven’t been mentioned yet: Interstellar and Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone. They’re not what you typically think of when someone says “adventure movie” but they really fit the bill in a certain sense.

Agree 100%. And amazing how the final climactic scene is, to this day, very damn scary.

If I meet someone who hasn't watched it, generally will show it. I can watch as if its the first time, every time.
