Watched Hannibal last night. Was pretty disappointed overall considering how good Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon were. Thought Moore was pretty bad replacing Foster. What are the boards thoughts?

Having anyone but Jodie Foster kinda killed this before it got off the ground. Too much changed from the novel, but overall I thought it was okay when focusing on the Hannibal scenes in Italy. Gary Oldman was great, but the Clarise/Hannibal dynamic was greatly diminished with Moore.

It takes after the book, which is also terrible. COmpletely does away with everything that made SotL great

I really liked the build up with Oldmans charter getting revenge on Hannibal, but when it actually happed it was such a let down.

Agreed. A really weak offering compared to the other two. And the Ray Liotta "dinner" scene was over the top.

The book actually took an even more outrageous turn at its end, one the movie didn't follow.
