They probably terrified the shite out of that dog to make a movie.
They did a post credit video in the theater where they talk about making the movie. It’s the directors dog, they shot the whole movie with like 4 total people. It took 400 days to film and they showed the raw footage of them filming and it’s literally just them basically playing with the dog, he’s not terrified at all, that’s all added in post production
They showed a reaction in particular that was a jump scare in the movie, and then showed they were throwing a toy to get the dog to pay attention to the right spot and they spent the entire day shooting to get an 8 second scene / reaction
Honestly that part was more interesting than the actual movie. Pretty uneventful horror movie that seemed pretty obvious where it was going from the jump. The dogs “performance” was the best part.

Some of the reviews said that the ending is tough to sit through if you're a dog lover. That's not a good sign.
I hope the movie fails miserably then

My wife thinks I’m screwed up because I can watch 100s of people get slaughtered in a movie and not blink but a dog dies and I’m sad for days.
Your wife is the one with the issues

No the dog is a good boy. The movie is really a metaphor for the cancer killing the main character.
But also there is some creepy stuff. But the way it's shot its hard to tell if it's real of if the dog is dreaming it. It's an odd movie. Low budget. Maybe 3 actors plus a dog.
The dog is the director's so there is an obvious connection. You think it's the best dog actor ever. Then they explain at the end the dog had no idea it's in a movie. Its just a regular dog being filmed.
They use a film technique that makes you the viewer think in certain ways. But in reality the dog is playing with toys or its owners. Not fighting ghosts.

I was watching the original Toxic Avenger the other day and I was most upset when the seeing eye dog Golden Retriver was shot twice with the shotgun..
