was filmed in a Hangar at Brookley Field in Mobile.

my parents met Dreyfus when he was walking around Bel Air Mall in Mobile not too long before I was born.

Roy's family was portrayed as just another part of "normalcy" that he is escaping from. Honestly, that's probably how a lot of young men view family life.

I wonder how Spielberg would handle it now. Dreyfuss has said he agrees with the original ending. Perhaps it would be too neat and tidy for Roy to have no attachments on earth.
