The true heads have purchased the DVDs of the subsequent Dic-produced series that ran in the early 90's

I had a vhs of the first season

It was alright but some of the changes bothered me. The episode where cobra commander turns serpentor into an iguana was hilarious

It had that speaker/microphone with it too. I’m pretty sure it was like 7 feet long haha. I had the Tomahawk helicopter on it and my X wing always showed up.

Cobra Commander's tantrums and meltdowns are epic.

I fell into a GI Joe rabbit hole yesterday (so easy to do on wiki)
quote:

He had a knack for concocting creative schemes for world domination - including cloned dinosaurs, giant amoebas, miniaturized troops stowed away inside Christmas presents, and using a super-laser to gleefully carve a picture of his face on the moon - plans which his immediate subordinates, particularly Destro, often blasted as ridiculous. The writers later commented that they only found Cobra Commander's personality when they stopped writing him as an Adolf Hitler-type and started writing him more in the vein of Yosemite Sam.

Man,
I had so many G.I.Toys back in the day.
I'm pretty sure my dad wanted this stuff as bad as my brother and I did back then.

We had the air craft carrier, the space ship, and couple jets but the Tiger Force Jeep with Dusty at the wheel always ruled the day.

P.S.
Scarlet had a little camel toe action back in the day.

That was kinda me recently. I tried to get my son into some of the re-released/ new versions of toys I had as a kid, but he never really did aside from the Netflix Voltron.

I was kinda torn on these back in the day. Didn't like the color so much, but it was a chance to grab some of the older figures/ vehicles (even though repainted) that you couldn't get anymore.

I never had that one, but I did have the carrier and the Battle Platform.

Really?

Knowing that is half the battle…

Need to see if I can look for the episodes I am missing. I think Revenge Of Cobra (Weather Device arc) is one I don’t have digitally.

Yeah, Cobra kidnaps about 6-7 Joes’ families to start with, including Scarlett’s martial arts family, with the stinger being them trying to kidnap the LaFitte clan at the end.

The Cobras on the mission end up tied up to a tree guarded by an alligator while the clan eats gumbo.

I absolutely loved the toys, the cartoon, and the comic books.

I didnt have the aircraft carrier, but i had a ton of vehicles: the jeep, the dragonfly helicopter, the skystriker jet, the mini-sub, and the hovercraft. I loved the file cards that gave each action figure a story and personality.

Great stuff!

Didn’t get into the comics until I could get them in TPB format in the 2000s and then digitally after that.

The Special Ops book was surprisingly good considering Hama wasn’t forced to use specific characters on it and could write what he pleased.

My favorite issue of that had to be the one where the Joes have tracked down terrorists who attacked an airport and have to figure out which couple is the hostages and which couple is the terrorists. It was written well enough that even the reader couldn’t figure out which was which until the reveal.

I absolutely loved coming home from school and watching twins shows back to back.

I had the aircraft carrier but the Killer Whale and Tomahawk were my favorite vehicles. I still have a ton of my Joes that my parents kept and actually displayed a few in my man cave

I think this show is why Gen X has such an affinity toward the A-10 warthog.

1980s Sunbow GI Joe episode

Back when America still had balls.

I had the GI Joe F14 and the Cobra A10, as well as a ton of figures. Most of them got destroyed when I got older and started blowing them up with firecrackers.
