I don't understand his hair style.

He was alright. I'm not really a big fan of his, his singing style with that soft voice reminds me of deandre from this season's idol.
His team is pretty solid.

This show was supposed to have Lionel Ritchie but he dropped out of it for "scheduling conflicts ". They replaced him with John legend.

is it a team vs team kind of competition. the judges are terrible in these they always talk up their contestants and rag the others when giving criticism very apparent on x factor and the voice

Thought this was interesting. Just read it.
American Idol Finale Ratings Were Worst In Show History

Also, I read this week's Entertainment Weekly and it said that "The Voice" will have two seasons in the fall/spring 2012-2013 season. One in the fall to go up against x factor. One in the spring to go up against Idol.
Im surprised I am just hearing about this. This is interesting. Did y'all know about it?

It's the only way she can make money. She has no singing career anymore.

I don't think it will get this way but you never know. The four singers Went out and found their teams across the country. There wasn't a cattle call type audition like idol.

Just grabbed this off another site explaining the rules for you.

quote:

With four celebrity performers, that makes three not singing for each duet. Those three are the ones who score the duets with an individual score of 1 to 100. The 3 judge scores are added up to get the total. In each elimination round, the contestants are ranked based on those scores.

Exceptions: Right off the bat, they said no one will be eliminated on the first week. So nothing is set in stone on a weekly basis.

Observation: This format could result in sabotage of the other celebrities’ better duet partner. It’s just common sense. You can’t let enemies judge each other. Even if the celebs are honest, there is a subconscious bias there.

Show will last 9 weeks.

The host of the show is that guy Quddus. He used to be an MTV VJ. He hosted TRL for a few years. I didn't really care for him but he is better than X Factor Steve Jones. That's all that matters.

Not true in my opinion. You should have watched. She never moved me. I was moved tonight by several perfomances.

No cute guys, though, other than Alan Thicke. I think he's cute in an odd sort of way.

Robin Thicke. Alan is his dad.

Throwback do, I think. Looks like Sammy Davis, Jr's do from what I've seen. Doesn't bother me.

Robin has a good team. (I keep calling him Alan.)

Nettles' team led by a lot to me. Robin next and the rest pretty far down.

Didn't know that. Not sure I'm going to watch. I didn't like it much. Couldn't stand Christina or Cee Lo. The way it works is annoying. I just couldn't get into it, overall.

I know. I had to go back and correct my original post, but I'm not correcting all of them.

I said Alan in an email to you a few minutes ago, too. I'll get it right eventually.

It's all good I just thought it was funny.

I used to watch growing pains when I was younger and always remember seeing "Alan Thicke" in the opening credits.

I was wondering that myself, especially when Nettles' first guy came out.

Another thing I noticed is that none of them say anything bad about or they didn't tonight. They simply don't rave when the singer isn't as good.

9 weeks isn't very long. I wondered how it could last very long with only 8 contestants. I applaud them for not eliminating anyone after the first show. That's one of my suggestions for AI, as you know.

There are some other performers out there now that do the same hair like that. I have seen the R&B singer Bruno Mars go with that look also.

Robin looks a lot like a younger version of his Dad. Guess that's why I keep calling him that.

Yep, I think it may be a Rat Pack era thing. Seems like Harry Connick, Jr, has had a milder version of it. He's got realy thick hair, though.

I totally agree with you on that also. It's not a real fair chance for the contestants if there is an elimination after the first week. Especially on a new show like this when 90% of people watching do not fully understand the rules and elimination process yet.

I was watching it with a friend and we both made the same exact comment. They never said anything negative at all. Things can change though as the competition moves on.
