I don't think alligator hunting can be "glorified" in the way that promiscuity or hair trigger violence can be.
Deadliest Catch didn't cause a rash of people running out to catch crabs (I gave you rash and crabs in the same phrase), because of the barriers to entry into the market. This show hasn't likely convinced people who have never hunted before to get an airboat and start roaming the swamps in search of game.
If the concern is that killing alligators has now become publicly acceptable, then I'm not sure why anyone should give a frick. It's not illegal in this country, and it's certainly not going to stop just because you choose not to film it.
Gather your animal rights lobbyists if you must and lob your tedious platitudes at the system that allows gator hunting, but don't bother with the TV show.
The claim that some show on the History Channel is making the struggle for animal rights in this country an uphill battle (not his words, but that's the unsubtle implication) is a convenient, but tissue-thin excuse for why a certain group's antagonism against our right to perpetuate nature hasn't been gaining much ground lately.
Dom here knows that his misguided and arbitrary zealotry (about something he can't possibly care about as much as he purports to for the sake of keeping his "career" from submerging completely into obscurity) will never amount to anything tangible as far as American law is concerned, so he has to make petulant attacks on American viewers for liking the law instead.
In case anyone read this, I meant "you" in the general sense.

You should totally blame Swamp People. That show, and those uneducated scum that are on it, are blights on Louisiana. They're an embarrassment of epic proportions. It's the equivalent of The Jersey Shore. They're nothing but ridiculous stereotypes of what the rest of the country wants to see when they think of LA.
Eta: "Scum" is a strong word, they could be decent people, but I sure as hell don't want to be represented by white trash like that.

Those walking STD's on Jersey Shore are providing a living for themselves too. If that's who you want representing you, and how you want people from around the county to view us....ouch.

Well, I won't ever get to personally cram Dominic Monaghan's argument back up his own arse, so my next best option is to make a long-winded post about it.

This is the spirit of what I said, though "King George is a douche" didn't suffice for Thomas Jefferson.
