Do you consider American Psycho to be a horror movie or a (dark)comedy?

Bale is doing comedy for most of the movie, so I don't see how it's NOT up for debate.

I wouldn't classify it as a comedy either. More like social satire.

At no point did I ever feel scared while watching this movie.

more in line than a horror film. This movie was filled with LOL moments.

never seemed funny to me

there are plenty of comedies that aren't funny to the viewer...but there is little doubt that the actors are playing this for laughs...Witherspoon is certainly playing for laughs too.

It's not a matter of opinion
It's a black black comedy

Dark Comedy.
But I seem to remember some quote from the director saying they thought the movie failed because people viewed it as a comedy.

I throw in a vote for black comedy as well.
I don't see that as a failure. It's an over the top satire of 1980s New York. The exaggeration makes for comedy.

So you mean to tell me that business men in NY don't obsess over their own business cards?
