I have to say, I’m surprised they’re doing a live action version of this one: LINK

Mandeville is producing along with Josh Gad. I had heard that Gad, a star of the Mandeville-produced blockbuster Beauty and the Beast, might play the lead character, but insiders at the studio said no casting is solid at this point.

I only saw that movie at that Superdome or Arena (can’t remember which) premiere and never again. They should just adapt the book if they are doing live action and forget their stupid cartoon movie.

I won’t mind seeing Disney take another shot at this. It isn’t one of their classics, and actually works really well as a live action. Love the Laughton version. This could be great if done well with today’s visuals.

To the poster above, the article says it will draw from the novel as well, not just the animated version, which is great.

And please forget Gad. Hell they mention Clive Owen has worked with this guy before. He could be a great Quasimodo imo. Not some fat comedy reject. It shouldn’t be a humorous part.

But Vinegar Strokes is right, the big question is who will play Esmeralda?? Vinegar strokes indeed

It was the Superdome. I was there also.

I really enjoyed the movie, like most Disney films, it has a really good soundtrack. Hope they cast Esmeralda well. And they’d better include Hellfire!

I don’t see how they can make it pg rated and keep the serious tone the movie had. Frollo is the darkest villain in any Disney film and Hellfire is the most fricked up song in any Disney film. My guess is they will do what the original movie did and keep everything but Frollo kid friendly.

I’m glad. I just hope they don’t try to censor the Catholicism aspects.

I was there as well, and that might be the last time I saw it as well.

I was in the dome for that. I think All-4-One played before they showed it.

Yup.

Except Josh Gad is easily my most unliked actor right now, so this is bad, bad news. He has zero talent, and he isn't funny. And he was the worst part of B&tB

Christian Bale will grow an actual hump to play Quasimodo.

Can't believe they're remaking this classic. Bob Maloogaloogaloogalooga was the man.

It’s worth a rewatch. It’s a film I appreciate and enjoy much more as an adult than I did at the time. Belle makes an appearance during “Out There”.

Who should play Frollo? Ian Mckellen looks and sounds a lot like Frollo, but he’ll be like 81 by the time they’re shooting it. I have a second idea who could play him.

DDL if he wasn't retired.

What's funny about that?

Outside of Bearclaw he isn't entertaining at all.

Good call. How about Caplaldi?

This LINK reports the cast being set. But the tweet reads like the persons desired cast and nothing is official.

What is everyone’s obsession with Zendaya?
