How have you been waiting for something that has existed for years?

For a standalone ESPN option that gets me all the same stuff you normally only get through cable?

Unless you're referring to some bootleg option, this hasn't existed for years.

I know exactly what ESPN+ is. I'm pretty sure you're the one in this thread who doesn't.

No. You couldn't. I have ESPN+. I get the small conference baseball games and foreign soccer games I'm interested in watching on there.

But if I didn't have cable, I wouldn't be able to see the SECN and SECN+ stuff.

That's what is different about the new product. This isn't a re-skin and price increase. I feel like you're intentionally missing the point right now.

Disney’s stand-alone ESPN streaming service will cost $29.99 per month. When bundled with Disney+ and Hulu’s ad-supported products, the three services will cost $35.99 per month. That price falls to $29.99 per month for the first 12 months for customers who sign up at launch.

Actually not bad at all since they are including the real espn. The previous bundles with espn plus were a bit of a ripoff given how little is on espn plus. Disney plus along is 15 bucks, the current price of espn plus is 7-10 bucks so not that much different for a lot better access to the live channels that still matter. And most of the streamer replacements like fubu and YTTV and sling will cost you 20-70 bucks with a lot of extra fluff you don’t need.

Probably feels steep for your typical college kid, but a small bargain if you have kids /a need for Disney plus

I have full gig fiber to the house and the picture with antenna is always better than streaming.

Just share a Youtube TV account with someone or multiple folks. You'll get ESPN access for about the same price as the stand alone, plus you'll also get access to all the other sports channels.
