I liked Hercules. Especially with the gospel music and all. It was funny. It won't be a classic.

Boy I guess I'm in the minority on Ratatouille, it is my least favorite Pixar. I actually liked Cars.

That was the worst part. I understand the need for "multiculturalism," but the tone was just way off for the film. It made no sense whatsoever.

Why does stuff like Randy Newman work in almost every film? Because it lacks cultural representation, and isn't already a part of a culture in and of itself. Gospel is completely different.

I understand the connection as well. Gospel is a very worship (religious) oriented music style, and the movie was partially about a set of gods, but it was just weird and awkward in the end.

Think about Lion King, Aladdin and Little Mermaid. Different cultures, but didn't the music sound the same in the end? Same thing for Pocahontas, Hunchback, etc. Ever since they have been doing musicals, the music is generally very vanilla. For a reason.

I do admit, it was a well-attempted failure. Worth a shot in the end.
