That episode was weak, borderline very weak. Best part was season preview.

last year's opening episodes were weak as well, it wasn't until that thanksgiving episode did things really get in motion.

Now that I think about it, your right. I guess because I've seen all the other episodes back to back on netflix it never seemed that way. This is the first one I have seen live.

You really could not expect a big bang on the first episode. They had to establish his mind set now.
They introduced Rita by having Decter and her go out on a date where they smashed the crab at the outside party and a ice truck killer body popped up across the street.

Normally I would say that will never happen because Quinn is not a bad guy. But with Dexters current mindset, who the hell knows ?

This is my problem with this season, just like season 2.
Of course Quinn isn't going to "bring Dexter down"
If he did the show would be over, and I haven't heard them announce this season as the finale.
