Just because it is a work of fiction does not mean you can make up whatever you want and not have the movie seem off.
Sure it does
Not to people with a brain

Just watched this weekend. It was an enjoyable movie, but did anybody else predict the ending in the first 15 minutes? It really wasn't very hard to figure out like other movie adaptations of Agatha Christie books.

I think I’ve read that the book itself is similarly obvious with this twist
It was definitely crazy obvious in this one. The only thing throwing me off the scene was how obvious it was I kept being like “well that’s gotta be a misdirect right?”

If you like Agatha Christie check out the books And Then There We’re None and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Both terrific.

There is also a mini series on And Then There Were None. It's very good and I have read that book. Imo one of the hardest to figure out of any mystery ever. Wouldn't mind a ATTWN feature film even tho the mini series came out in 2015.

What an absolute turd. The beginning WWI scene was completely unnecessary and rang untrue. If Poirot had fought w/ the French (he was Belgian not French) in WWI, why did he never mention that to his best friend Captain Hastings? Seems like having that in common would generate a line or two of dialogue in the books. If KB added that, why? Mon Capitan! I could not save Mon Capitan! So what? The dirty dancing to rock 'n' roll was pathetic and unnecessary and the two black women were stereotypes. Now we don't have enough time for the mystery. Real miss. I hope this will be KB's last Poirot. He is not up to the task.
