would be a whole lot cooler if it was a 9.

I rank it at 8.5 for entertainment and a 10 as a history vehicle.

I am 52 years old. I was the same age in the 70's as the kids are supposed to be. Everything, the music, the clothes, the drugs, the coaches, the parents, all of it is on point.

Grew up in a small town in Mississippi that had the exact same setup for the pool hall/game room next to a fast food place and a convience/liqour store.

Rush is a more serious movie from the same time period. If you look at what they were doing, some of the kids just having fun in Dazed would end up using, selling or dead in Rush.

Life can be brutal.

I was a kid of the seventies and watching Dazed and Confused is like looking back at my childhood.

Linklater has admitted most of the movie was actually based on his College days at Sam Houston U in Huntsville,, I went to HS just two HS's south of Huntsville and less than a decade behind.

on weekends we hung out with kids from SHSU on lake Conroe

truthfully the character of Mitch could have very easily been about me
movie set in 76 I entered HS in 79

SO much of it really rings very very true

and its a damn good movie
