The response to this movie has me confused. I saw it, and I liked it. Although I thought it was somewhat slow-moving at times, the story was genuinely interesting and touching. I thought Brad Pitt's portrayal of Benjamin Button was spot-on as well. And I LOVED the lightning jokes; they all came at the perfect times.
Overall, it was an entertaining movie. However, I would not in any way say that it was the "best movie ever made" or "life-changing." Several of my friends, however, have made the claims. Did I miss the point of the movie or something? Like I said, it was a good/entertaining story, but it didn't make me want to be a better person or anything.
Also, I thought the Katrina thing was overdone. If it really was just an excuse to keep the daughter listening, they didn't need to give as much detail. And finally, while the accents were better than most movies, the old lady Blanchett's accent was horrible and hickish. She was from NOLA, not MS!

My wife and I saw it yesterday. We both thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend seeing it!

I don't see how some people didn't like it.

Every opinion on here is dead on. I was conflicted. It was boring but I loved every moment of it. I loved the NO setting but hated the Katrina angle. It was slow and Forrest Gump-like but I still loved it. It had a meandering plot and poor dialouge but I still loved it. It was very "eunique".

I saw it last night. Very good movie, but honestly left me feeling a little sad afterwards. They really did New Orleans justice, which I think made me appreciate the film even more. Not so sure about the Katrina bit though..

Well is the first 15 minutes count for anything i sucks arse.. Thats all I made it thru... maybe even the first 10... I still have it on a flash drive and will give it another chance later but I definetly was not in the mood for it last night based on how slow it starts....
It is nearly a 3 hour movie, and you dropped out because it didn't grab you in the first 15 minutes?
Wow.
Go watch Transformers or something.

I have said it before. Nice movie, but not the life changing best movie of all times.
