I like John Wayne movies becuase I watched them all the time with my Dad growing up. He still watches them almost every day.

Because Wayne is life affirming comfort food.
Eastwood is a lone wolf that doesn't lament being a lone wolf.
Wayne does. His movies are always one inch away from a stable family man but he's just got that itch to rub...while pining for the girl that he let get away.
The man with no name pines for no woman or normalcy of life...he just rides into town and takes what he wants. He has no regrets or care for the future.
Wayne's characters always have regrets but he soldiers on against his own self-desires out of honorable manhood. While man with no name has no honor but unto himself. He's always in it for the money or himself. He would never lead The Cowboys or Mattie or anything... But gold. His one ounce of redemption is always just revenge for himself or money...Outlaw Josey or Unforgiven or The Good, Bad, and the Ugly.
It's not a who you grew up with thing, it's an age thing...more so. Clint appeals to our younger solitary selves that are selfish, while Wayne appeals to the older do good for the family self who can't quite balance the life of Cowboy and wannabe husband.

I prefer Clint Eastwood.
The Duke is classic m. And if you’re into Classic movies you’re going to love his movies.
I think The Man with No Name trilogy is timeless.

Eastwood all day every day!

Jamie:
I wish we had time to bury that fella.
Josey Wales:
To hell with John Wayne. Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms.
