I liked Rick's reaction when Chumlee dropped the ball and chain through the glass case in the store.

I laughed when Rick blamed Chumlee for buying the dummies when it was the Old Man who did it.

Yeah when Chumlee dropped the ball on the glass was pretty good.

I almost spit the water i was drinking when he dropped that ball. I probably should have seen it coming but it caught me off guard.

My wife and I went in there last October when in Vegas, they were all off filming so we didn't get to meet them, except Chumlee. He came in while we were there, we met him and he talked to us a bit. I can tell you that I would guess that at least 80% of his idiocy is scripted. He didn't strike me as that dumb. You could tell the fame has definitely gone to his head though.

All tv is scripted. Of all the shows why do people care if pawn stars is?

I'm aware that it's scripted, doesn't bother me

they have to pay him to do that. the show needs a punch line or it would be boring. Hes probably the only one on the show that has a script...

the reason i thought there was something wrong with chum was the Christmas episode when they gave him the rolex and the guy said chums holds a special place in their hearts..........no parents maybe???

My theory is that he's probably the smartest of the group and is just acting like a ruhtard as a gag - it's obvious the show is scripted (I still love it).

I still gag a little on the episode where Chumlee makes them all some wine in the glass wine keg... smashing the grapes himself with his bare feet and then later giving to all of them to drink...

Just think about it this way: if you owned a store that depended on your employee making big decisions that directly affected the amount of money you made and/or lost, would be he one of them?

It's absolutely scripted, so either he plays up that act for the camera, or he doesn't really work there and is purely acting.

I agree with your reasoning, but like another poster said about the x-mas episode where they said he had a "special place in their hearts". That's what really made me think something might be up with him. But he can't be as dumb as he seems and work there without supervision

His behavior is completely scripted, this is no different than the way Mikey acted on American Chopper and you could see the producers ideas all over his behavior in that show. There is no way Rick would let a person as stupid as that work there if that was real.

Big Hoss isn't much smarter then Chumlee. I think he keeps Chum around so he doesn't look as stupid. You could bring BH a box of shite and he would buy it...and probably pay to much.

If that seafood had some BP oil on it then it's a piece of shitty history, therefore upping the value
