Eh?

I find it sort of funny that Nolan, with 10 wide release films under his belt, is already being put on this sort of level with like a Hitchcock or Bergman. Sure, he has potential, but he's far from it right now. It's fanboy-ism to think he's already there honestly.

And yes, I got a little snippy with someone saying I had my opinion because I want to be hip. My fault for sure. That and the Nolan fanboys get me going. Look, I like the guy. I've rebought copies of Memento like 3 times for different versions. I'm one of the few around here who think The Prestige is an undderrated classic. But no, I don't think he's a monumental filmmaker who is in the Scorcese, Hitchcock, Spielberg type level. Yet.

I think that's a pretty fair, non-fanboy take.

I’m not a Nolan fanboy at all, but The Prestige is my favorite movie of all time. It is that good IMO.

pretty much. he knows how to make fun, big budget action films, but that thin veneer of pseudo-intellectualism is very easily seen though. and his dialogue is straight dogshit

It's such a tight, complete film. I love it.

And I'm definitely excited to hear about this next film as well. He will always be interesting. And you know the film will have tight production, and good design.

I don't think he understood you were being sarcastic about the "hip" statement.
