I am amazed out how well Wes, CT, and Bananas are able to get the girls do their bidding for them.

It's not amazing at all... the veteran girls aren't going to vote the veteran guys in, so the veteran girls teams won't vote them in. It makes perfect sense for them to work together since they aren't competing against each other.

None of the girls are going to vote for CT/Wes or Johnny/Frank when they have the cop out option of voting for the rookies or Preston/Knight. They don't want that target on their back when the vote switches to them.

Eh, the only real veterans are Diem, Aneesa, and Paula (but Emily is the one who has all the power in that team). I get why they're voting this way (besides, you have the Diem/CT relationship), but there aren't any other veterans from the glory years of Wes . Remember how last year the Austin team was knocked out in the first 2 challenges thanks to the voting of Cancun, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and San Diego? There are multiple chicks from those seasons still in the house but they're voting very differently.

Exactly why I think this format sucks. It makes the alliances, such as these, TOO rock solid.

Preston/Knight have CT's backing too, so they won't be going in until they have too.

Coco,
good episode. It's entitled "Crossing Jordan" if that gives you a hint about who the episode centers around.

Yeah, because in that season the veterans were a significant minority and all the other rookies just let Frank and Zach run shite. Now those same chicks are letting Johnny and company run shite. They are fine staying out of the way and not making themselves a target.

Sure, both those idiots either try to suck up to the vets (Preston/Knight & Gimmye/Camila) or try to buck the system that they feel is unfair, or have been personally hurt (Jonna's team). It's the same pretty much all the time, and the vets continue to maintain the idea that they are "in control." In reality, if the last 4-5 seasons teamed up, they would've taken control easily.

The Jungle elimination is good, a lot like when CJ and Zach faced off last year. Interesting to see how 4 of the 6 guys who were in these eliminations played college football. And Leroy is one of the two who didn't.

They'll be in next guys' elimination, unless they win.

Four scenarios...
1) They lose the challenge and are automatically in.
2) Marlon/Jordan lose and the girls send Preston and Knight in so that the two power teams are guaranteed to make the finals.
3) CT/Wes or Johnny/Frank lose, and they convince the girls to send in the weak team rather than the rookies. This is a no-brainer for the girls because they want to keep the two power teams happy.
4) Preston/Knight somehow win, that's their only way to avoid getting sent in, same as Leroy/Michael on Rivals I... they were kept around as long as possible as the weak team (because of Michael) but then screwed it up by winning the last guys' challenge.

Last year showed how easily that could happen. If it wasn't for Brooklyn getting lucky with some of the eliminations, like JD getting eliminations that require you to hold your breath under water for 45 seconds at a time, all of the vets would have been gone in the first 6 eliminations, probably.

Mixing Frank with a veteran who specializes in politics was a good move at preventing the same thing from happening again. I think a Duel format would be very good for next season though, where each person gets to save one other person, regardless of gender.

WHy would they care at this point? There are no more eliminations once the final 3 teams are chosen for each gender. I highly doubt anyone is planning in advance for future challenges. I really hope Jordan and Marlon win and one of the two power teams finishes last, and then Jordan convinces Jonna to toss in the other power team, Cooke and Cara realize no one has their back and they toss in a power team for the frick of it, and Jemmeye protects her friend, Preston, and also tosses in the other power team, thus leaving Paula and Emily with meaningless votes.

I know there is no way that happens, but CT/Wes vs Johnny/Frank would be hilarious, especially since it guarantees money for the weakest team on the guys' side.

Did Leroy not realize he could ring the bell? There's no other reason why Marlon hit it first. Fwiw, I thought it was the same way; each team has a runner and a blocker and only the runner (Ty and Jordan) could hit it. Guess not.

me and you saw completely different things happen.

ETA: Spoilers below for people who haven't watched yet.

Weren't Leroy and Marlon the blockers, with Jordan and Ty the runners, or the guys starting farther out back? Ty was very close to the bell, but Jordan kept wrestling him away. Then Marlon broke free from Leroy on his own end of the "field" and sprinted all the way to the other side, while Leroy seemed to just stand around for a couple of seconds watching Ty struggle with Jordan (although this part was kind of hard to see)

Because the guys are down to 4 and the girls still have 5... so there's one more girls' elimination after the last guys' elimination. Plus of course they are planning in advance for future challenges. Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

I could see Jordan and Marlon pulling a couple of teams, but you're forgetting that one of the girls teams will be gone by the time that vote happens. So they won't get enough unless either Diem/Aneesa or Paula/Emily go home next week. Otherwise those two are going to go against them, and there will only be 4 teams to vote. Not sure what a tiebreaker would be.

As in Marlon wrestled Ty in the final 3 feet while Jordan ran past Leroy to ring the bell?

Yes, because Marlon was playing defense, he got away from Leroy and tackled Ty, while Leroy tried to stop Jordan.

Have they ever done a Challenge where the voting was secret, survivor-style? That could get interesting.

Yeah, they did it in one of the earlier seasons, where Wes was pissing everyone off. I remember some of the girls got drunk and disclosed how they were voting because they are morons.
