Here's my pick. hard to find anyone who's even heard of it.
Only earned $12 mil at the BO on a budget of 25 mil. ( smoochy was 50 mil... somehow.)
Suzanne Sommers final film appearance before her death. Also has Sarah "#metoo warrior" Silverman giving a BJ in a hottub to the Bad guy.
Sally field, Richard Jenkins, And Orlando Jones. All of the supporting cast is great. Solid comedy.

My vote goes to "To Die For" - Kidman/ Phoenix/ Affleck. It didn't bomb at the box office, but it didn't do to weel, either. Great movie.

John Carter was good. Loved those native people. There are so many great bombs. The Thing and Blade Runner immediately come to mind. Here is a pretty good and shocking list.Really goes to show how bad peoples taste really is when you see Bad Boys movies making a ton.
Whoa whoa whoa, he's got Babylon in that list? Fat fricking chance.
Otherwise, studio marketing and the length of time they'll leave a movie in theaters matters.
John Carter is one we've talked about a lot on here. The marketing campaign told us nothing about the movie, other than it was live-action Disney with a character most of us hadn't heard of. Had they marketed it as "John Carter of Mars," and shed more light on the setting and source material, it could have done much better. Instead, most of us only saw it later on cable and thought it was surprisingly good.
There are others on that list (including the awful Babylon) that just never had wide theatrical release - which you can't really blame on audiences. It ain't our fault a movie showed in the minimum 3 theaters in LA and NY looking for awards.
