Anyone need some good deals on books?

Borders will begin closing down its remaining stores as soon as Friday, and the liquidation is expected to run through September.

Every time I went into one of their closing stores there was a bunch of shitty detritus left (Social Networking for Dummies, hardback genre fiction, Celine Dieon's Greatest Hits). Sad that overall they jettison off ~11,000 jobs.

Books at the Borders at the Mall of Louisiana were pretty overpriced. Guess I'll have to get what's left.

Don't think they have a Borders here. I know there's a Books-a-Million and a Barnes & Nobles.

Definitely. I'll have to keep an eye on that place for the clearance sales to start.

Even with clearance sales, do you think they will still be cheaper than Amazon with free shipping and no tax?

They deserve it. I went to a going out of business sale at the one on Vets and even with the discounted prices, it was still cheaper to purchase books from Amazon.
