No that’s a different guy but it’s in the same group

You’re thinking of Ewen Bremner

Haven't seen it since it was at the theater, but I do remember really enjoying it, though having a difficult time telling the characters apart.

I need to re-watch it sometime.

Yeah, Nelson (Bremner) and Twombly (Hardy) were kind of a comic relief branch. They got separated from the group moving to the first crash site and Nelson was deafened by a M249 burst fired by Twombly in the film.

My parents took me to see this when I was 11 years old. It was the first movie I remember that really shook me. Not just the action scenes, but I remember being viscerally angry at the pilots being stripped and carried away.

eta: This was also when Josh Hartnett was on top of the world.

This was the movie that was supposed to launch him to superstardom. He was supposed to get to Bradley Cooper or one of the Ryans levels of success based on that launch.

Turns out neither he nor his agent can pick a script or appropriate project for him to save his life.

I'd have to confirm this but I think it was a deliberate choice by Hartnett. I don't think he liked being a big time movie star/"heart throb."

He did a great job in this movie. Unfortunately, he's been in bombs like Pearl Harbor (earlier that year) and Hollywood Homicide.

One of my daughter's friend's dad was played by Eric Bana. Met him a couple times and projects the quiet "I could kill you easily if I felt like it vibe", but pretty nice guy.
