Robyn Kass did all of the casting from season 2 through Season 22. She was gone season 23, and that year we get... The Cookout. That's also the year that CBS started enforcing all of their reality shows to be 50%+ minorities.

Kass had her own issues to though and hard core fans didn't like her because she cast BB like the Bachelor/Bachelorette, Love Island, etc. (other shows that she also was the casting director). Their complaints were that she cast people that didn't know the game, but her seasons had a lot more hits with casting then misses.

Now we have this guy (who also took over casting for survivor) and the casts are mostly shite:
