Paul did give them something to think about last night in regards to Meech being with James & Nat. But if Nicole and Corey did decide to not put Paul up, they'd target Meech and might put Nat up beside her. They wouldn't target James himself, unlike Paul and Victor who would be gunning for James first, with Nat being the backup. But after the blowup today, who knows who Nicole and Corey would go after. They might decide to go after Paul after all. So it would be stupid for James to keep Victor.
ETA: Never mind. I didn't see this convo that Nicole and Corey had after the blowup today. James and Nat might be screwed either way.

The question is, will James do what Natalie wants and keep Victor in hopes to stay in her good graces and possibly get to hook up with her? Or will he do what is best for his game and vote out Vic.

A little bit of both. They had Nat & Meech fooled since last night, but James wasn't buying it. And then they had the big blowup today before the feeds went down, and it sounded like James was starting to relent to Nat & Meech's stupidity.
But Paul and Victor's plan didn't just fool Nat, Meech & possibly James, it also fooled Nicole and Corey. All Nicole & Corey really had to do is spend the last couple of days up in the HOH room, but instead they just laid up in the bed all week and let Paul & Victor play them.
ETA: BTW, Victor looked relaxed and Corey looked worried when they showed them a few minutes ago.

If production wants Paulie back in the game they need to have Corey voted out. Corey will not be able to stay up on the wall for more than 5 minutes and Paulie will just have to worry about the jury girls.
